Session 7 - Notes
- The neonates decided to create a coterie loosely based on the Questari type: Existing to pursue their own purpose out of desire rather than by edict.
- The coterie then chose Ivan Doherty as their Mawla (Level 2, Ancilla).
- Ivan produces a key to Marshall Manor located in the Marshall Campus District, which the neonates claim as their new haven and hunting grounds.
- The new haven provides a great hunting ground with museums and historic landmarks in the nearby vicinity attracting vessels from a wide range of economic and social strata. Museums, in particular, are open late and frequented almost every night by wealthy patrons and transient visitors.
- Roger, Ivan’s ghoul, personally introduces the neonates to various museum curators in the district.

Hooks, crooks and more…
- The story resumes two months after the events at Elysium; in game time, this will be a week before Christmas.
- Papagenno is still in a coma at the hospital. The Duke tells Jack, “As long as the man cannot speak, your extension remains in effect.”
- Allison Shaw has moved into The Obsidian hotel. She is spry and looks remarkably rejuvenated. She is at the hospital visiting Papagenno every day.
- Phone calls from Desirée to Cassian are less frequent now. Her last message says she is going away with Henry for the weekend. Again, she tells Cassian he should meet Henry and that he “will really like him”.
- A.D.A. Phillip Blakely’s case against the Ardelino family has stalled due to a lack of witnesses. However, he is promoted and in line for the District Attorney job. Blakely declares that his case against the Ardelinos is still on, and then publicly promises justice and results by brazenly stating, “There’s a helluva Christmas present coming for Newcastle...”
- Cassian’s lair in the crypt of St. Jude’s has become untenable. Visions of the former janitor, Phil, and a boy occur nightly. Cass witnesses Phil luring the boy with candy into the crypt and hears the boy whimpering and protesting. It becomes evident that Phil is abusing or molesting him. Finally, there is the sound of ropes creaking in the rafters and the sound of a man choking.
- Cassian is visited by the Bishop who is apologetic that Cassian’s vengeance against Jenner Lanius was unjustly taken from him by the Prince. The Bishop reminds Cass that only he represents true redemption. In the back of Cassian’s mind, he can’t help but think that the Bishop has his best interests at heart.
- The Bishop then strongly recommends that Cassian leave the cathedral and find a new lair — too many Kindred know where Cass sleeps, and he is at risk. He gives Cassian one night to decide.
- Harri walks out of his apartment and passes by an alley. He hears the chittering of rats. When he investigates the alley, he sees a sea of rats and red eyes swarming up the wall where they spell the words: FEED ME.
- The phone rings in Marshall Manor. Sheriff Fakkir orders the coterie to meet at the police station at midnight. “Something terrible has happened. Bring your weapons. Seven has struck again.”
- On the way to the police station, a call from Roger comes in about the shipping container owned by McVaigh Enterprises which the vampires investigated in the Newcastle dockyard. The contents of the container are scheduled to be moved on Christmas eve, and Ivan wants the coterie to follow that truck.
